“Banned Books” – Your Leftist and ‘Conspiracy’ Theory Index

// January 6th, 2008 // Ebooks, Politics

On torrent sites, I mean.

These are part of the “banned books” collection that I have come to index. They are either classics, controversial, very leftist or called “conspiracy theories.”

Enjoy.

Just stumbled upon this page. Are these books all banned in the USA? What does that entail? That they are outlawed to sell and or own? That they are not allowed at schools or libraries?
The list contains some pretty important books! Books which should be read at school by many more than they currently are.
My last question would be – what’s the source from whence you got this list?

I think some of them are or highly scrutinized or banned at a time. Most are very controversial, may contain info. that the U.S. govt does not necessarily want out there, conspiracy theories etc. I am not sure myself as to the designation of these books as “banned” but it has been floating around, especially on torrent sites.

    good database.

There are no officially banned books in the USA.

It is unconstitutional for any branch or level of government in the US to ban books for any reason, with the possible exception of the works of writers who sign contracts with a government agency in which they agree to keep secrets. Even then, courts are loathe to impose prior restraint (restraining order) absent a compelling state interest, preferring to see the injured party wait until the book is published before suing for damages.

Torrent site operators aren’t the government. They don’t have to allow anything; they are free to ‘ban’ anything they want from their service. I don’t see any problem here.

No ptg — I meant that on certain torrent sites there are under a “banned books” collection not that they are banned from there. And I was simply questioning why the designation when it most of these books are readily available or not necessarily banned by the government. I think it is due to the fact that some are controversial.

    nice useful database.

It looks like some of this was banned by some country at some point. You would have to understand laws in other countries to know. For instance, the pamphlet titled “What’s Wrong with McDonalds” had been part of a big libel suit in Britain that went to the European Court of Human Rights in 1994. The libel laws in Britain are strict, forcing the defense to hold the FULL burden of guilt. McDonalds sued the group Green Peace in London, who had created the pamphlet. Green Peace was able to prove some but not all of the allegations in the pamphlet. Under British law, all allegations against McDonalds had to be proven true or it would be held as libel. Thus, the founders of Green Peace were held for libel. This eventually went to the European Court of Human Rights because of the inherent unfairness in British law in placing the full burden of proof on defendants in libel cases. The European Court of Human Rights held that the British courts violated freedom of speech.

Anyway, ptg, the world does not center around the US.

In all the above one thing that is of fundamental importance is being left out and that is the the agenda aliens play here on earth.

THey have everything to do with what happens here on earth at all levels of existence.

Just curious that these are left out and wonder why?

Just thought I post another one here before going away forever – I've recently read this website belonging to one of the authors here on the list and mind you she's done a great job connecting the dots. A real spiritual being.

Just a warning a little esoteric, scientific, spiritual and alienish. It involves everyone from the farmer all the way up to the presidents and their controllers and their controllers and further up it goes to the creators of this false creation created by false GODS.

Go over to xeeatwelve.com and read the whole site – if you're a seeker of Truth then you will not be at any loss. It will enlighten your knowledge. If you're religious to an degree and believe anyone religion and accept everything that your religion preach then don't bother for you're one of the lost souls who cannot be rescued purpely based on the blinkers you're wearing.

Remove the blinkers and the Truth will flow through like a torrent of thundering river.

    Ta.
