Yes, it sounds like an oxymoron but it is not.
And yes, it is more like 17 years, but we won’t go there…
Working the legal support hotlines for the SF area demonstrations against the war told me a lot about the organization level of the ‘direct action’ folks. We were detailed on events down to the last minute, legal observers quick to help call-in arrests as the arrestee intake forms were filled even before the police had a chance to issue citations, and video footage streamed live over the internet.
Of course I was on the ground and participating, not the least bit apprehensive about cops. Heck, I have gotten away all these years, there must be some luck going for me.
