No Borders and Binaries

Anti-immigrant, anti-undocumented student, anti-gay, racism, sexism and other isms — It is a compelling reason to stay holed up in my room all day lost in some simulation game or fantasy, to only ‘come out’ for gym, breakfast, lunch, gym, dinner. Who needs ’social interaction’ when it is full of hatred? What are we teaching our young children about tolerance and acceptance?

Lets see. Today I got called a bleeding heart, a parasite and some other disgusting remark pertaining to my reproduction system. Should I bother responding or just walk away? A part of me believes in ‘catching, boxing and moving-on’ as a way of countering such discourse. Another part of me would love to confront the coward whose life only derives meaning from hatred and scapegoating in the cybersphere. Now isn’t that pretty sad and pathetic–Why should I reduce the meaning of my life to exchanging any sort of discourse with people like that? Yes, I am biased, I do believe I am a better human being than most of them–I truly believe in love and acceptance over hatred and intolerance.

Nothing about me is a permanent immutable characteristic besides the fact that I am a human being. A  queer one but a human nonetheless.

Time for gym and then dinner. Will write something intelligent this weekend.
