Hey James, thanks for the comment. I find it appalling that Pahlin doesn’t believe that global warming to some extent is human-caused (when 2000 scientists on the IPCC adamantly agree) — that is moronic and sets her as rabidly “anti-environment” so I doubt she really cares or thinks about hunting games for her grand-kids.

I still think you can do both–try to keep guns out of the hands of urban youth while ensuring wild-life hunting for future generations.

I wouldn’t expect to see her shoot as badly as Cheney because hunters in the West have a lot more experience with guns than those going on guided hunts in Texas. Still, I doubt she shoots as well as my dear mother–also a life member in the NRA.

What continues to gall me about Western Republicans like her that hunt and fish is that they cannot seem to take a principled stand in favor of wild lands, clean waters, and the public trust. I don’t have a problem with NRA members and their guns; I have a serious disagreement with their priorities. Instead of protecting the rights of urban youth to acquire assault rifles, they should be doing more to make certain that hunting wild game will still be possible when their grandchildren are grandparents.
