New Ad: Sharron Angle Finds More Scary Brown People

It’s official: The Latino male has temporarily replaced Osama Bin Laden as the big bogeyman of the 2010 midterm elections.

Sharron Angle just won’t quit on her use of Latino men in a disparaging manner, even as she continues to deny the racial-bias apparent in her campaign ads. Maybe she is confusing them for Asians again, but after two other racially-laden ads where she used stock photos to criticize Senate Majority leader Harry Reid for supporting undocumented immigrants, Angle has released yet another blatantly racist campaign advertisement.

“Waves of illegal aliens streaming across our border, joining violent gangs, forcing families to live in fear,” the announcer says. “And what’s Harry Reid doing about it? Voting to give illegal aliens Social Security benefits, tax breaks, and college tuition. Voting against declaring English our national language — twice. And Reid even sided with Obama and the President of Mexico to block Arizona’s tough new immigration law. Harry Reid, it’s clear whose side he’s on — and it’s not yours.” Don’t take my word for it; see the ad for yourself below on how white people are being victimized by scary brown people.

Nevadans are increasingly supporting Angle’s bid for the Senate in light of these advertisements, which is even scarier. A TPM poll average gives Angle a lead of 48.5%-47.4%.

The race between Reid and Angel squarely looks like one about immigration even though Harry Reid really has not done much to fight back and court Latino voters. Maybe he thinks he does not need to given how Latino voters would just flock to his side after viewing these ads. It may be too late for him to stop looking so gall and affronted and start taking Angle more seriously. After all, who can blame the Senate Majority leader? It is 2010 and he has to defend himself for trying to do the right thing for immigrants against attacks that are blatantly racist. We can tell Sharron Angle to stop demonizing Latinos but the best way to do so would be at the voting booth on November 2.
