I know what you mean. I am a (former) DREAMer who recently moved back to my home country b/c I didn't want to waste however many more years in the US (which I spent most of my life in) waiting for CIR to pass. Now I'm looking at Canada to do my Masters. UBC and Simon Fraser are looking really good. Hooray for Canadian Dreams! I still feel American and really hope CIR and the Dream Act passes (and hope one day I can live in the US, or even VISIT, again) but reality is reality, right?

I’m a white male and I often get treated the same as you. The entire LGBT movement has been hijacked by abusive bullies who can’t see the forest for the trees. They’re preventing equality from being achieved.

This person has a very bad habit of talking about women of color to other men rather than face the women of color and then making excuses. He did it about me too. He is the worst example of using colonizer mentality in his attempts to co-opt the movement., No wonder more and more mujeres in the movement want nothing to do with this poor excuse for an ally. At first I chocked it up to his youth but I also have other theories.

Now you're making me laugh. So what's the whole story? They want to put lgbt issues on the back burner? Or they won't hear of it from you because you're a woman? Or is it both?
